How The Collective came about.

Stevie P Doyle (Founder)

My Passion for the industry started years ago and not with production, but with Movie and Tv filming locations. I'd spend hours on the laptop researching the locations and then visiting them.

In 2006 I started working for a company that was subcontracted to Tv Companies like ITV,  Granada, Channel 4, The BBC and Sky and through this I not only got to visit the locations but actually the sets and I got to see the actual production side of it.

Music was also a big passion of mine and I got involved in radio to promote new and rising talent which led me to create and run my own radio station which is still going today

Fast forward to September 2023 and  a  spell back home in Ireland and I bumped into a local guy I'd known for years who was part of Foxsake Film Productions who asked to be part of the film they were making in my home town,

I went to as many of the locations and just watched what was going on, what people were doing and how they were doing it and it ignited my passion for film production.

I moved back to the UK in the October of 2023 and met up with an old friend and  who had appeared in many productions and TV shows from Coronation Street to Shameless, Peaky Blinders, Hollyoaks and Casualty to name just a few who had recently had surgery.

It left him wheelchair bound for a long time and then with limited mobility for a period. During this  time found that his castings dried up and he could not understand why the  agencies couldn't find or accept him for roles.

It sparked a debate about the access to productions of actors who were just beginning their journey or who had been at it for years. It also brought up disability in the industry. I then thought about the other roles people play and  who also wanted to work in the industry.

Suddenly the idea for The Collective came to me, somewhere all who wanted to get experience and show reels from actors to camera, sound and lighting crew. Also script writers, production crew, directors etc...

So here we are, a place where everyone can help each other to enhance what they can put on their CV and add to their portfolio to benefit their career beyond the collective.
